TECO
Teco is the youngest bonobo at Ape Initiative, and the only bonobo born in the state of Iowa. He was born on June 1, 2010. Teco is Elikya and Nyota’s son, and Maisha and Kanzi’s nephew. He understands many spoken English words, and will often request his favorite food - grapes - using his lexigram keyboard. Teco loves to participate in research projects, and is always trying to get his fellow bonobos to play chase with him. Teco is the sweetest bonobo in the world!
