MAISHA
Maisha was born to Matata on May 28th, 2000. He is Elikya’s full brother and Nyota’s half brother. Maisha is our resident goofball and he never misses an opportunity to be silly and playful. Maisha is Teco and Clara’s go-to playmate, and he can even get Kanzi to laugh hysterically. He understands a number of spoken English words, and will often play tricks on his caregivers. Maisha’s favorite foods are hard-boiled eggs, yogurt, and cottage cheese - which in moderation, provide excellent and healthy sources of protein for our apes.
