MALI
Mali was born to Ikela on September 4th, 2007 at the San Diego Zoo. Mali joined our bonobo family in November 2019 as part of the Bonobo Species Survival Plan (SSP). She is settling in very nicely and has already formed close relationships with Elikya, Clara, Kanzi, Maisha, Teco and Nyota. Mali is very intelligent and loves to try out new enrichment items and training on the touchscreen computers. This sweet and gorgeous girl has already stolen the hearts of our care-staff! Once Mali heard the other bonobos vocalize, she completely relaxed and felt right at home. We cannot wait to watch Mali grow and thrive at Ape Initiative!
