OUR OUTREACH

The International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) lists bonobos as an endangered species with as few as 15,000 - 20,000 individuals remaining in their only native habitat - the Democratic Republic of Congo. Perhaps even more disheartening, the bonobo population is decreasing. If we are going to reverse this trend, and preserve the species most closely related to humans - as well as the habitats they live in - we need to raise awareness, and inspire the next generation to save bonobos. Humans pose the greatest threat to bonobos. However, we also are the only ones that can save them. That is why we continuously strive to educate people of all ages from all corners of the globe about this incredible species.
